Cycle Path
Flimby Cycle Path
The Flimby Cyclepath leaving the A596 at Long and Small's Garage, passing through the village and rejoining the A596 at Risehill.
The Cycle path begins on the right.
Towards the bridge over Canker Beck
Over the bridge
Across the field to the second pathway
Up the hill
Through the gate and up the hill
Down the hill towards the bridal path
In the distance the Village of FLimby
Views across the Solway to Dumfries in Scotland
Keep your eye open for farm animals and tractors
In the distance is the village of Flimby
Approaching Flimby
Towards St Nicholas Church
Down through Flimby via Wedgwood Road and past the M&S mini-mart on the right.
You can exit to the A596 either via Rye Hill Road or Brook Street. If you are early enough at the main road end of Brooke street you may purchase hot pies, etc. at The Papershop.
Now we would like to see the Pennygill to Risehow path brought up to the same standard. This pathway has good potential with fine views of the the local countryside and the Solway but it is badly in need of repair and resurfacing. Upgrading this pathway would allow cyclists and walkers to continue on from Flimby into the Ewanrigg area of Maryport thus avoiding an early return to the A596 traffic .
