Flimby Mothers Union Closes

The last service of Flimby Mothers Union was held in St Nicholas Church on Thursday 7 of April 2011.

The service was taken by Revd S McKendry, Revd G Hart, local ordained ministers Mrs L Radcliff and Mrs L Hill. The Organist was Mr R McKendry.

Also at the service was Mrs M Banks our Solway Deanery leader.

The service was also attended by members from Seaton, St Pauls Church, St Marys With Christ Church Maryport and All Souls Church Netherton.

We at Flimby thank you all for coming to support us on this sad occasion and thank you for your support over many years of friendship and fellowship on different occasions.

May I on behalf of Flimby Mothers Union members thank the clergy for a very lovely service.

At the end of the service Mrs M Banks our Solway Deanery leader presented Mrs M Ashbridge with a Mothers Union certificate for 25 years service.

After the service was finished it was followed by a buffet supper which was enjoyed by all.

It was decided to close the branch because of the small number of members left and nobody else being willing to join.

Mary Ashbridge
